Equine-Informed Group Therapy

Connection. Growth. Healing—Together.

Healing doesn't have to happen alone. In our Equine-Informed Group Therapy sessions, participants experience the power of shared stories, emotional support, and the unique wisdom of horses—all within a safe, compassionate setting.

Group therapy can be a powerful space to witness others, be witnessed, and feel less alone in your journey. When combined with the intuitive presence of horses, that space becomes even more transformative.

What is Equine-Informed Group Therapy?

Equine-informed group therapy blends traditional therapeutic group work with the presence and participation of horses. Guided by a licensed mental health professional and equine specialist, sessions involve structured group activities, personal reflection, and mindful interaction with the horses—no riding required.

Each group is built around a specific theme or intention, such as:

  • Anxiety and Emotional Regulation

  • Grief and Loss

  • Life Transitions and Identity

  • Self-Esteem and Confidence

  • Trauma and Nervous System Support

Whether you're brushing a horse beside a peer or sharing insights around a pasture-side circle, you'll be part of a process that fosters vulnerability, empathy, and growth.

Why Horses? Why Groups?

Horses bring honesty, presence, and nonjudgment to the group experience. They respond to group dynamics naturally—mirroring unspoken feelings and helping highlight patterns of communication and connection. In this way, horses help the group tune into the “unspoken conversation” and deepen emotional awareness.

Group therapy adds another layer: the healing that comes from shared understanding. As others show up with their truth, you may find pieces of your own story reflected in theirs—and discover strength and solidarity in the process.

What to Expect

  • Ground-based horse activities (no riding)

  • Group sharing and reflection

  • Mindfulness and grounding exercises

  • Creative, nature-based therapeutic approaches

  • A small, confidential group of individuals on a shared journey
