The connection between client and horse is at the heart of our work. It is a deeply relational experience around which all healing unfolds.

Equine Informed Therapy

Under the guidance of trained counselors and horse professionals, we use interactive experiences with horses to foster behavioral, emotional, social, spiritual, and psychological growth. Our program provides clients with experiential opportunities to practice healthy life skills in a physically and emotionally safe environment. Those skills are then carried back into their lives and families. Each client is treated as an individual: goals, and session plans are carefully matched to the needs, temperament, and emotional goals of the client.

A special bond grows between clients and our horses. As they develop empathy and connection with our horses, an awareness of others’ feelings, interests and needs grows too. Individuals who learn to treat a horse with kindness, respect, and responsibility become empowered to be better parents, better partners, better students, employees and friends, both as children and adults. Learning to share power and space with a 1000-pound animal is a tremendous boost to self-esteem. The joy and confidence learned at the barn, creates a sense of accomplishment that naturally transfers to clients’ lives.

“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”

— Winston Churchill
